These Chicago residents wanted to create a modern weekend home in New Buffalo, 100 miles East as the crow flies from Chicago. It was a fun exploration because their current residence was very traditional.

They wanted an weekend escape for relaxation and a kitchen designed for casual entertaining. We created a kitchen with two islands to allow for extra circulation and plenty of work surfaces. The main island enjoys lake views for cooking and clean up, while the second island functions as a beverage bar including refrigeration and freezer drawers for grab and go refreshments on the beach. The beverage bar was wrapped in a waterfall stone detail of White Onyx creating a statement piece in the foreground as you enter the space.
